   To address long-standing industry pain points such as slow traditional design drafting, high revision costs, and insufficient fidelity of renderings in the lighting sector, and to promote the digital and intelligent transformation of Ningbo’s lighting industry, on July 25, the Ningbo Lighting Electrical Appliance Industry Association, in collaboration with Zhejiang Urban Construction Planning & Design Institute Co., Ltd., successfully held a specialized AIGC lighting design practical training session at the Multi-function Hall on the 2nd floor of Huagang Hotel, Jiangbei Bund, Ningbo. This one-day intensive workshop attracted 31 lighting designers and design professionals from member enterprises. Industry leaders, design institute experts, and experienced AI lighting instructors gathered onsite to jointly explore practical pathways for integrating AI technology into lighting design.

  The training officially commenced with an opening session, during which He Qiansheng, Chairman of the Lighting Design Engineering Committee, delivered the opening remarks. Director He emphasized that although tools continue to evolve and update, our original aspiration for lighting quality, pursuit of light-and-shadow aesthetics, and commitment to urban lighting remain unchanged.Embracing new AI technologies is aimed at better expressing design creativity and empowering high-quality projects. We hope all participants take this training as an opportunity to overcome design bottlenecks, enhance professional capabilities, and accelerate their companies’ digital transformation. In the future, the association will continue building platforms for digital training and technical exchange to consistently empower the high-quality development of the local lighting industry.

   Subsequently, Shen Wei, President of Zhejiang Urban Construction Planning & Design Institute, took the stage to provide a comprehensive introduction to the course curriculum. Drawing on various implemented lighting projects from the institute, President Shen illustrated the advantages of AIGC applications in scenarios such as cultural tourism heritage sites, urban landmarks, and landscape nightscapes. He clarified that AI serves as an efficient auxiliary tool to amplify designers' creativity and streamline drafting processes, and expressed his hope that participants would master practical techniques and transform their learning into project productivity..

Full-day hands-on instruction targeting real-world pain points in lighting design

  After the opening ceremony, senior lighting designers Sun Pengfei and Luo Jidi—who each have 10 to 20 years of industry experience—jointly delivered a full-day practical training session. The entire course was built upon the A Station Guangzhi 3.0 model framework and combined real-world lighting project cases with step-by-step, hands-on computer-based instruction.

  The curriculum comprehensively covered foundational tool operations and multi-scenario practical applications: it began with an explanation of the underlying logic of the Guangzhi 3.0 model and platform functionalities, focusing especially on prompt optimization techniques tailored for the lighting industry. Participants received guidance on parameter tuning to effectively address common AI-generated image issues such as inaccurate lighting/shadow rendering and mismatched scene aesthetics. Additionally, in-depth practical exercises were conducted around two core scenarios—cultural tourism heritage architecture and urban landmark landscapes—covering professional design standards including lighting design codes, illuminance and color temperature requirements, ecological lighting principles, and deconstructing the AI logic behind dynamic lighting effects, with live demonstrations of rapid end-to-end lighting solution generation.

Training successfully concluded, digital transformation marches forward

  A tightly packed and highly practical specialized training session concluded successfully. Participants unanimously agreed that the course precisely addressed real-world needs in lighting engineering—unlike generic AI design courses—and effectively tackled industry-specific drafting pain points. Previously time-consuming tasks involving repeated revisions of renderings can now be significantly simplified with AI tools. They plan to quickly apply these techniques to actual projects such as cultural tourism lighting, municipal landmarks, and real estate landscape lighting.

  Moving forward, the Lighting Design and Engineering Committee of the Ningbo Lighting Electrical Appliance Industry Association will continue driving the intelligent transformation and upgrading of Ningbo’s lighting industry, empowering industrial innovation with new AI technologies and enhancing the distinctive reputation of Ningbo’s lighting sector.
